Based on the video and your notes, what impact did Mao have on China?
Mao Zedong and the CCP had a positive affect on China because they mobilized the people and rid China of the corrupt and brutal dictator Jiang Jie-shi and the Nationalists. He modernized China and largely made it what it is today. He's a good leader in that respect, however it is obvious to many political theorists that the end does not justify the means. Many were killed in the attempt to get China moving. It was largely communist, though has been shifting as of lately. Regardless of his communist views, Maoism is still a force today, one that cannot be shunned simply because it is communist.
